Police found the sedan minutes later, behind an apartment building on Ernst Avenue, off Riverside Drive.

A police officer recognized the vehicle about 4 p.m. and gave chase. The chase began in Dayton, continued into Montgomery County briefly and returned to Dayton until police lost sight of it on Riverside Drive about 4:12 p.m.

The car was empty when police found it, the sergeant said, but it contains evidence of weapons and drugs. An evidence crew has been called to the scene to process the sedan. We’re hearing police believed at least three people were in the car during the pursuit.

The pursuit covered Siebenthaler, Parkwood and Ridge avenues before hitting northbound Riverside Drive.

It has not been reported as stolen, the sergeant said.

He said that unrelated to the pursuit, police have taken one person in custody.
