Nursing home homicide suspect dies after suspected suicide

DAYTON — A nursing home resident charged with murder after the death of a fellow resident has died, coroner’s office officials said.

Salvador Cisneros, 59, of Dayton had faced aggravated murder and felonious assault charges and was due in court today.

“We were informed that the defendant hung himself...this morning inside the jails,” the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s office said.

Anthony Moran, 45, of Dayton died by after police said Cisneros used a pillow to smother him.

Cisneros’ cause and manner of death are still being investigated, Montgomery County Coroner Kent Harshbarger said.

The killing happened at the Mary Scott Nursing Center on Campus Drive Wednesday.

Moran’s death was ruled a homicide.

Cisneros and Moran shared a room  at the nursing center.

Cisneros told a nurse at the facility he killed Moran, according to an affidavit filed in court.

During an interview with police “Salvador admitted that he killed Anthony Moran by putting a pillow over his face until he stopped moving,” the affidavit read.
