DAYTON — Firefighters respond to a house fire in Dayton on Wednesday night.
As reported on News Center 7 at 11, crews were called to the 100 block of Melwood Avenue just after 9 p.m., according to a Montgomery County dispatcher.

Firefighters arrived at a vacant home engulfed in flames.
Crews said it was too dangerous for them to search inside.
Our News Center 7 crews on the scene show flames shooting out of the roof of the house.
Crews knew the home was vacant due to being out in the area a week prior.
“It’s being treated as suspicious at this time,” said Dayton District Fire Captain Andrew Wiley.
Wiley said there was a fire in the house right next to this one, as well as the one behind it on Gettysburg Avenue.
“We’ve had a lot in this area, and they’ve all been very suspicious,” said Wiley.
The house has been scheduled for an emergency demolition.
