Coronavirus: Local auto shop offers to fix children’s bikes for free

NEW CARLISLE — As many children are cooped up at home to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus, a local auto shop is offering to fix children’s bicycles for free to help them enjoy some time outside.

New Carlisle Auto Shop, located along Quick Road in New Carlisle, posted on their Facebook page that they will fix any child’s bicycle for free, “no matter what it is.”

Pearson said their mission has been made possible by the generosity of people in the community who have donated their older bikes to provide the shop’s technicians with extra parts to make repairs.

News Center 7’s Katy Andersen talked to Chris Pearson, one of the shop’s technicians Thursday. He said he has fixed approximately seven bicycles so far this week and is scheduled to fix at least three more.

Pearson said if you would like to schedule an appointment, to reach out to their Facebook page or call their shop at (937) 846-5339
