DAYTON — As kids are going back-to-school, being part of a sports team is a good way to keep them active.

It can be hard to figure out which sport best fits them.
Pediatric sports medicine doctor Elizabeth Davis says the best way to get your child interested in a sport is to let them choose.
While at times, kids may lose interest, Davis says parents will always know best and it’s important for kids to honor their commitment.
“You really should encourage your child, unless they’re in a dangerous situation or they’re getting hurt,” she said. “Or you’re really concerned for their safety, that they really do need to finish the season.”
