Crash involving cruiser shuts down I-75 for over an hour

MORAINE — A crash involving a police cruiser shut down I-75 Northbound for over an hour early Sunday morning.

According to a Moraine Police Department Sergeant, officers were dispatched at 2:11 a.m. to investigate a crash on I-75 Northbound near Dryden Rd.

After locating the vehicle, an Officer was returning to their cruiser when the cruiser was hit by another vehicle.

Both the cruiser and the other vehicle sustained heavy damage. The Officer and the driver were uninjured.

The driver was arrested on OVI charges.

The interstate was shut down at 2:11 a.m., reopening at 3:37 a.m., and was shut down for just over an hour.
