PREBLE COUNTY, Ohio — Several fire departments were dispatched Friday afternoon to a large fire in Preble County.
Firefighters battled the flames at a barn in the 5900 block of Orangeburg Road near New Paris about 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

According to the Preble County Sheriff’s Dispatch, there were at least 10 different fire departments from Preble and Darke counties in Ohio, and Wayne County, Indiana.
According to the New Paris Fire Chief, the barn was filled with hay. Firefighters were spreading the hay to help put the fire out.
He said firefighters will be working to put out hotspots for a while.
The smoke was very thick, and no livestock were injured.
Some of the departments that responded to help were West Manchester, Casper Township, New Madison, Harveysburg and more, with at least three water tankers.
Dispatch said that all of Orangeburg Road is closed and US 40 from 726 to State Route 320 is closed for an unspecified amount of time.
