DAYTON — Two people are in the hospital with burns after a kitchen fire in Dayton Monday night, Dayton Fire Department District Chief Chris Kinzeler said.

The fire occurred at a house in the 2600 block of Greenbrier Drive before 9:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters laid a hose line and went inside.
Kinzeler said crews found a fire in the kitchen, specifically on a stovetop. They were able to extinguish the flames quickly.
“We went into first aid, EMS, mode shortly after we got here. We found two victims actually had minor to moderate burns on their hands,” Kinzeler said.
No other injuries were reported.
The damage was contained to the kitchen, Kinzeler said.
A fire investigator was called to the scene to determine the cause.
