According to deputies, Cozart drove through high water on the roadway, causing the vehicle to hydroplane and lose control.

The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, fell into a ditch, rolled multiple times, hit a fence, and came to rest in a field.

The Darke County Highway Department had placed high water warning signs in the area to warn motorists of the road hazard.

Following a preliminary investigation, officers issued Cozart a citation for failure to maintain reasonable control of a motor vehicle.
