Dayton man puts woman’s hands in boiling water, report says

Dayton police are investigating after a 28-year-old woman was burned by a man.

Around 8 a.m. Thursday, police were called to Miami Valley Hospital where they met a very frantic woman crying and waving her hands around, she reportedly also had bandages wrapped around both hands.

The woman told police she had met a man a couple weeks ago at the Shell gas station on Free Pike, and she stayed the night at his house Wednesday.

The woman told officers she fell asleep and when she woke up to her hands in a pot of boiling hot water, according to a Dayton Police report.

Police have made no arrests. The male is described as being in his 50s.

The woman told police after she woke up, she screamed and jumped up, spilling the water and causing it to spill on her chest. She reportedly grabbed her belongings and ran out of the apartment.
