Anthony Dill, 33 of Dayton, was injured after the pursuit through parts of Warren County ended in a crash in Franklin March 4, investigators from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office previously told News Center 7. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was looking into Dill’s arrest and his possible connections to two stolen cars and a manhunt in Xenia Twp. earlier last week.

On Wednesday, Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said Dill was indeed the person his office was looking for. Fischer said deputies were first notified of a stolen car out of Cedarville Twp. Feb. 28 in which Dill was a suspect.

That vehicle was recovered but deputies also found a gun inside, Fischer said.

A man matching Dill’s description was reported the next day, March 1, in the area of Hoop Road and South Bickett Road in Xenia Twp. A large manhunt, involving several deputies and an aviation unit from the Ohio State Highway Patrol was unsuccessful in locating the man.

Deputies considered the man, who they believed was Dill, was possibly armed and possibly dangerous because of the gun recovered from the first stolen vehicle.

Deputies concluded the search after learning another vehicle was stolen from a home near the area where they were searching.

The stolen truck was the same truck later involved in a pursuit during the late night hours of March 4 in Warren County, Fischer confirmed.

Warren County deputies attempted to pull over the truck in the area of Dixie Highway and Roosevelt Boulevard in Franklin Twp. and continued into the City of Franklin.

During the pursuit speeds reached 104 mph, multiple red lights were ran, and the truck crossed over the centerline several times, Warren County deputies said in an incident report.

After Franklin police deployed a tire deflation device, the truck, driven by Dill, crashed into a utility pole, and ran into the foundation of a recently demolished building on Anderson Street near Sixth Street in Franklin.

Dill suffered a dislocated hip, broken leg, fractured pelvis, possible internal bleeding, and a head injury in the crash, Warren County deputies said in their report.

A passenger in the truck was also injured and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Dill was taken to Atrium Medical Center and was later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. He has been released from the Dayton hospital and is now listed as an inmate in the Montgomery County Jail, according to jail records.

Fischer said prosecutors in both Greene and Warren counties are working to determining which county Dill will face charges for the incidents.
