UPDATE @ 10:25 p.m.: Judge Jeannine Pratt, seeking to correct incorrect information she received about bail in Brent William Hennon II's case accusing him of injuring his infant son, increased his bail to $500,000 late Monday afternoon.

EARLIER REPORT (Jan. 7)

A Piqua man accused of critically injuring his infant son in November pleaded not guilty Monday to felony indictments of felonious assault and child endangering.

Brent William Hennon II, 19, made the pleas in Miami County Common Pleas Court, where Judge Jeannine Pratt set bail at $100,000.

He was arrested in late November on a felonious assault charge for allegedly assaulting his 2-week-old son in Piqua.

Piqua police said the child suffered “multiple skull fractures as well as fractures of ribs and extremities” while in his father’s care.

The child, Marley Hennon, was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

The grand jury heard the case and returned the indictments in late December.

The charges are second-degree felonies, which carry prison time of up to eight years each.

A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Jan. 15.
