VANDALIA — Bond was set at $250,000 on Monday for a 25-year-old man accused of forcing his way into a Vandalia apartment.
A woman called police around 5:30 a.m. Saturday to report that a man forced his way into her Continental Court apartment and assaulted her, which caused an injury.

Police arrested the suspect, identified as Deontay D. Roberson, after they said he attempted to return to the woman’s apartment.
He reportedly tried to flee to the area of West Alkaline Springs Road and Randler Avenue to avoid arrest, according to the Vandalia police report.
Aggravated burglary and resisting arrest charges were filed Monday against Roberson, who remains held in the Montgomery County Jail. He is next scheduled to appear March 12 in Vandalia Municipal Court.
