A suspicious package that was found at a Dayton apartment complex that prompted a bomb squad callout was determined to be safe, police said.
The package was found at the apartment complex without any labels or a return address, prompting the bomb squad to respond, said Dayton police Sgt. Terry Bartlett.

“Using their technology and training, they rendered that package safe,” he said.
Detectives will look into who left the package and what was inside.
“Please, if you’re going to drop something off and no one is home, leave it with the building tenant, put some type of name or note on it so if it’s found, we have a way to contact you so something like this doesn’t happen,” Bartlett said.

A suspicious package was delivered to an apartment at River Commons in the 100 block of E. Helena Street, Montgomery County dispatch confirmed. The package was delivered without any labels.

Crews were dispatched at 9:18 p.m. to stage a fire, and the Dayton Bomb Squad is on scene.
