No word about a suspect in fatal Bowen Street shooting in Dayton

DAYTON — UPDATE (May 29): Phillip Wolliver-Blythe, 47, is the victim found Thursday night on Bowen Street suffering from gunshot wounds that proved to be fatal, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said.

There has been no word from Dayton police about a suspect of person of interest in the homicide.

FIRST REPORT (May 28)

A caller to 9-1-1 said she heard gunfire sometime after 7:30 p.m. but did not see who was doing the shooting, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

A male found shot in the 400 block of Bowen Street is dead and police are starting a homicide investigation, Dayton Lt. Steven Bauer said.

Bauer said the victim, a male believed to be 48 years old, was shot more than once.

Bauer also said police do not have a suspect right now, but homicide detectives have been called to the scene.
