YELLOW SPRINGS — The Village of Yellow Springs passed an ordinance this week requiring all within the central business district to wear a facial covering, maintain physical distance of at least six feet and to regularly wash and sanitize their hands.

The ordinance was passed Monday night as a measure to preserve public interest and for the health, safety and welfare of Yellow Spring’s citizens and visitors, according the resolution by the village council.
Four of the five council members voted in favor of the resolution.
Exceptions will be made for those with documented medical conditions that prevents a mask to be worn and for children under the age of four.
The resolution will expire Dec. 30 or by an order issued by Gov. Mike DeWine or the Ohio Department of Health that the state of emergency no longer exists.
