OMAHA, Neb. — What a catch, indeed!

As first baseman for the Oklahoma Sooners, Blake Robertson has made his fair share of clinch outs, but he’ll have to work pretty hard to out-wow the catch he made Sunday – inches from Notre Dame’s dugout.

As video clips from the wild play show, Robertson made the catch and tumbled over the railing in front of the Irish dugout, “landing hard on the concrete steps below, MLB.com reported.

On the first pitch of Sunday’s College World Series game between the Sooners and the Fighting Irish, Notre Dame outfielder Ryan Cole popped the high, and Robertson never missed a step.

And to the delight of Sooners everywhere, Robertson, himself, popped up immediately grasping the foul ball in his glove and grinning ear to ear.

According to MLB.com, Robertson drove in three runs during Oklahoma’s victorious College World Series opener against Texas A&M on Friday.

The 2022 College World Series is being played in Omaha, Nebraska.
