A U.S. Air Force F-15C has crashed into the North Sea on Monday.
The jet was on a routine training mission from RAF Lakenheath and was part of the 48th Fighter Wing, or Liberty Wing, The Associated Press reported.
The crash happened about 85 miles from the East Yorkshire coast, the BBC reported.
Search and rescue crews from the U.K. were scouring the crash site, the AP reported. They have found the body of the pilot, Sky News reported.
The name of the pilot was not been released until next of kin has been notified, Sky News reported.
The cause of the crash was not released, CBS News reported.
RAF Lakenheath posted a tweet hours before the crash that showed F-15 planes in flight saying “Ready to Take on Monday."
