Ukrainian church in Chicago vandalized, police say

CHICAGO — A Ukrainian church in Chicago was vandalized early Saturday, authorities said.

According to the Chicago Police Department, a custodial worker at Holy Protection Parish of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine reported a break-in at about 1:08 a.m. CST, WGN-TV reported.

Police said thieves broke a window on the side of the church, the television station reported. Video surveillance showed a man taking several items from the church.
