‘Quantum of Solace,’ ‘Harry Potter,’ ‘Chernobyl’ actor Paul Ritter dies

British actor Paul Ritter has died.

Ritter, who had roles in the HBO drama “Chernobyl” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” died at home surrounded by his wife and sons after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, his agent said according to Variety.

Ritter was a star of both the stage and screen with acting credits in the James Bond film “Quantum of Solace” and “Friday Night Dinner,” “Vera,” and “Cold Feet” television shows, the BBC reported. He also was nominated for a Tony Award for his appearance in the 2008 production of “The Norman Conquests,” Variety reported.

He was 54.
