Jill Dasher, 51, Plattsmouth, was charged with two counts of felony theft, the Omaha World-Herald reported. According to Cass County records, Dasher allegedly took the money from the bank accounts of the Plattsmouth Baseball/Softball Association and Blue Lightning Select Softball Team for herself, the newspaper reported.

Prosecutors alleged that Dasher used some of the money to make a mortgage payment and buy Christmas gifts.

According to court records, Plattsmouth police detectives determined that $6,000 was missing from the softball association bank account and $22,044 was gone from the Blue Lightning’s account, News Channel Nebraska reported.

The missing cash was discovered when a co-administrator of the Plattsmouth association noticed that an invoice for T-shirts had not been paid, the news outlet reported. She also learned that the association’s bank account had insufficient funds in September.

“Dasher admitted she would transfer money between the two accounts to cover one another when the balance got low from her using it for personal purchases,” an affidavit filed by a Plattsmouth police detective stated. “Dasher wasn’t sure how it began with using the two organization’s money but admitted it got out of hand.”

Plattsmouth baseball’s select teams were also overcharged $1,000, the World-Herald reported. Dasher allegedly only bought insurance covering 52 players, instead of the 180 on team rosters, according to the newspaper.

According to the affidavit, Dasher admitted to the detective that she received a much larger deposit from the teams but pocketed the difference, the World-Herald reported.
