UPDATE: 3 people shot outside a Toledo high school stadium during football game

TOLEDO — UPDATED @ 10:45 p.m.: Toledo police are saying now that at least three people have been shot outside a Toledo high school stadium, CBS station WTOL is reporting.

Several bullet casings were scattered on the ground behind the field house, according to the station.

The game between Whitmer High School and Central Catholic High School was paused because of the shooting.

“We are deeply saddened that a fun rivalry tonight was disrupted by an act of violence in the streets surrounding our event. What we know at this time is limited, and we will not speculate until further details are known. An event like this is every school district’s worst nightmare, and we ask that you keep both Central and Whitmer in your thoughts as we attempt to figure out this atrocious act.”

At least one person was shot tonight outside the Whitmer High School football stadium in Toledo, CBS station WTOL reported.

The condition of the person is not known, according to the station’s online report.

News Center 7 reached out to the Toledo Police Department, which had no comment on the report.

WTOL is reporting that gunshots were heard and people in the stadium’s stands were seen fleeing.

The incident caused the game between Whitmer High School and Central Catholic High School to be paused.
