ODOT: Winter milder than last year, so far

MIAMI VALLEY — This winter has been considerably milder than last year, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

In their winter update, ODOT press secretary Matt Bruning said that resources used this winter across the state are around 30 percent less than last year.

These resources include tons of salt used, gallons of de-icer used, labor hours and miles driven by ODOT workers.

This week’s forecast is an example of spring-like weather with temperatures in the 50s expected and a high of 70 possible Thursday — possibly breaking a historical record of the same temperature in 2017.
