CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Zoo welcomed the two newest members into the world earlier this month.
The two bat-eared fox kits were born on April 6 from first-time mom Frankie and proven dad Otis.

Frankie and Otis’ relationship with care staff is crucial for monitoring kit health and making necessary changes to their home, according to the zoo’s blog post.
Mom quickly resumed her normal demeanor after giving birth, and Otis was able to help with kit-rearing, allowing Frankie some time outside the den.

The team is working on establishing trust with both parents through co-rearing to ensure the kits learn to trust their care staff from a young age.
The kits are growing quickly, now weighing over 240g.
