SPRINGFIELD — About 300 gallons of gasoline were spilled today in Springfield.

This happened around noon at Speedway on Derr Road.

Some of the fluid went into a storm drain. Wirth said the EPA and a clean up contractor is on the way.

Capt. Brian Wirth, Springfield fire, said a tanker truck filling up tanks for Speedway somehow spilled 300 gallons of gasoline.

The gas station is closed for now, as well as parts of Derr Road nearby.

Wirth said the spill is isolated and residents don’t have a reason to worry.
