Police investigate dog owner’s death at Studio 6

UPDATE@11:30a.m.

Miami Twp. police tell us the death of a middle-aged man from out of state is not considered suspicious.

Police said the unidentified man didn’t show up for work this morning and was reported missing.

Officers used a ladder to reach the second floor room through a window because the door was deadbolted.

The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of family.

The cause of death won’t be available until toxicology tests are completed, which could several weeks.

The man had a dog at the pet-friendly motel. Police said someone took possession of the dog for the time being and the investigation is ongoing.

A corporate spokesperson for Studio 6 declined to issue a statement, noting it is an open police investigation.

Police in Miami Twp. are investigating a death at the Studio 6 Extended Stay, 8101 Springboro Pike.

A Montgomery County coroner’s investigator arrived on scene at approximately 10:30 a.m.

A county animal control officer was also on scene.
