GREENE COUNTY — By the time students at Wilberforce and Central State University head back to class, they will have a new sidewalk to connect the two campuses.

The new pedestrian walkway is being built along Bickett Road, Brush Row Road and U.S. 42. For years, CSU and Wilberforce students have visited each other’s campuses, but to get there, they had to cross a busy street.

A few years ago, The Ohio Department of Transportation began a study, looking at safety and what could be done. The decision was made to put sidewalks in place.

However, crews from Complete Solutions, LLC have been working on building the path this week. And, it appears the next step will be concrete.

In 2019, it was reported that the project would cost about $200,000. News Center 7 called the Ohio Department of Transportation to find out who is paying for the project and when it will be completed.
