Crash causes gas leak, evacuation in Moraine

UPDATE @ 12:20 p.m.

Police said a 71-year-old man suffered a diabetic emergency while driving and crashed into a main gas line.

741 and Sandridge are now open.

UPDATE @ 11:35 a.m.

The gas feed has been shut off after nearby businesses were evacuated.

Traffic was stopped temporarily on Ohio 741 at Sandridge Drive. At 11:35 a.m., motorists were being let through on 741, but Sandridge was expected to be blocked a little longer to clean up the scene.

A medic responded for one person who was injured in the crash.

FIRST REPORT

Fire and police in Moraine are responding to a single-vehicle crash that caused a gas leak in front of the Montgomery County Solid Waste District, 2550 Sandridge Drive.

Crews were dispatched at 10:47 a.m. and Vectren was called to the scene.

Scanner traffic indicates northbound traffic on Ohio 741 (Springboro Pike) will be restricted.
