Man returns to April Fool’s run after near-fatal heart attack

What has become an annual April Fools day event in Piqua had a special meaning this morning.

Last year on this date, runner Kevin Pryfogle got a new lease on life. At the end of the two-mile run, Kevin, then age 51, collapsed from a heart attack.

An automated external defibrillator was used to bring him back.

Kevin started running again in July after his doctor gave him the OK.

Kevin underwent a quintuple bypass surgery three days later.

Kevin ran in the annual event this morning. He talked to WHIO’s Steve Baker about that day and his near-death experience.
