UPDATE @ 10:05 p.m.: A car driven by a juvenile apparently ran a red light on state Route 741, T-boned an SUV and sent it toppling, then hit a second car near the intersection at Remick Boulevard, Springboro police Sgt. Aaron Zimmaro said.
Police were dispatched to the three-vehicle accident about 7:36 p.m., he said.
According to the preliminary investigation, the SUV was trying to cross 741 to get to the other side of Remick when it was struck and came to rest on its side. A dog believed to be a Husky mix that was in the SUV was frightened and ran off. Police found the animal an hour later, Zimmaro said.
The driver of the SUV, treated at Sycamore Hospital, has been released.
The 16- or 17-year-old juvenile driving the car that started the chain of events suffered minor injuries. She and her two passengers, also juveniles, were treated at the scene and released, Zimmaro said.
Zimmaro said the investigation of the accident is continuing.
