Two fires force evacuations of Fairborn apartments

Fire crews in Fairborn had to fight two separate fires in the same apartment complex overnight.

Residents were forced to evacuate two times from the Fairborn Senior Apartments in the 200 block of North Central Avenue while crews battled to knock down two different fires.

Firefighters first responded to the apartment complex shortly after midnight Wednesday morning and were able to quickly extinguish a fire located in a common area.

All residents were allowed to return to their apartments and no injuries were reported.

A second fire, coming from a separate common area was also found around 1:30 a.m. that filled the first floor with heavy smoke officials say.

Officials say the state fire marshal has been requested to investigate the blazes.
