UPDATE @ 12:30 p.m. Jan. 14:
The victim in the shooting will face a charge drug possession for marijuana found in a vehicle at the scene, according to a Dayton police report.
Police say the man told them there was an ounce of marijuana in his car for personal use. But officers found at least 33 grams, the report states.
The victim told them he had never seen the suspects before the shooting, the report states.
UPDATE @ 11:55 p.m. Jan. 13: An argument over what police believe was a robbery or a sale involving two freezer bags full of suspected marijuana ended with one man shot in the leg and two men — one of whom was the shooter — on the run.
The victim, whose age was not immediately available, suffered a non-life threatening wound and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton Sgt. Creigee S. Coleman said.
Coleman said witnesses told police there was one other male with the shooter and both ran behind Gina’s II Liquor Store, 2229 Germantown St.
The amount of the substance police confiscated from a car in the store parking lot leads police to believe the shooting was the result of a robbery or a person trying to make a sale, Coleman said.
“That’s probably what started the argument,” the sergeant said.
UPDATE @ 11:25 p.m.: One person has been taken to a hospital following the shooting outside Gina's II Liquor Store, 2229 Germantown St.
The condition of the victim was not immediately available, but he appeared to be alert and speaking with medics.
