Pit bull breaks loose, bites man

A pit bull broke loose from a tether and attacked a man Saturday afternoon near Upland Avenue in Dayton.

The victim told police the dog had been tied up behind a house on Upland Avenue and lunged at him as he walked in an alley behind the home.

The dog broke free from a cord and bit him in the buttox, he told police.

A resident of the home, Marcus West, was cited for having an unlicensed animal. The victim plans to press charges against the dog’s owner, according to the Dayton Police Department.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
