Infant safe, ends endangered child advisory

Her 17-year-old mother is still missing, police say.

UPDATE @ 7:59 p.m.: The child, 7-month-old Navaeh Maupin, was dropped off at the Reading Police Department in suburban Cincinnati to end that part of the endangered missing child advisory.

Her mother, 17-year-old Alyssa Maupin, is still missing.

A police supervisor said the child was dropped off at 5:20 p.m., but would not say who dropped the baby off.

An endangered child advisory has been issued for a 17-year-old woman and her 7-month-old daughter.

The child, Navaeh Maupin, is believed to be in danger, according to the advisory issued by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The advisory covers Montgomery, Butler, Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Preble and Warren counties.

The child was last seen with her mother, Alyssa Maupin, who also is reported missing.

“Law enforcement is concerned for their safety,” according to the advisory.

The missing or abducted child was last seen on an unknown street in Dayton on June 12 about 1 a.m.
