Ohio Task Force 1 rescues 35 people, 15 pets from Houston floodwaters

Ohio Task Force 1 rescued 33 adults, 2 children and 15 pets on Dairy Ashford Road Tuesday in Houston, according to WHIO’s Gabrielle Enright.

The group is now moving to White Wing Lane to perform additional rescues in the Memorial neighborhood west of downtown Houston.

Tropical Storm Harvey continues to linger over the Gulf Coast as thousands in the Houston area take shelter in downtown convention centers and churches.

News Center 7's Gabrielle Enright and Chuck Hamlin are on scene in Houston, Texas where an Ohio Task Force 1 and U.S. Coast Guard rescue is underway.

An apartment complex along Dairy Ashford Road in Houston's west side has flooded, with as many as 50 people trapped inside.

Vehicles are submerged and rescue boats are now out in the water.
