TULSA, Okla. — Oklahoma-born country music star Joe Diffie died Sunday from coronavirus-related issues, according to his Facebook page.

In a Friday Instagram post, the Grammy Award-winning singer said he was being treated for the virus, which had infected about 665,000 people worldwide and more than 124,000 in the United States by Sunday morning.

His family has asked for privacy at this time.
