Here is a listing of Memorial Day events around the Miami Valley for Monday, May 26 to honor our fallen troops.
CENTERVILLE
City to host Memorial Day celebration
The city’s Memorial Day observance is scheduled to being at 9 a.m. on May 26 at the Veterans Memorial at Stubbs Park, 255 W.Spring Valley Road.
The keynote address will be given by U.S. Congressman Mike Turner. The program will also include color guard presentations from Centerville VFW Post 9550, the Centerville Police Department Honor Guard and remarks from Centerville Mayor Mark Kingseed, readings by Centerville High School students Bobby Hughes and Grace Nadler, and musical performances by the Centerville Community Chorus and Centerville Community Band.
Centerville area Cub and Girl Scouts will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

TROY
Memorial Day events in Troy are scheduled for Monday, May 26, beginning at 10 a.m. with a ceremony on the Adams Street Bridge. The ceremony will move to Veteran’s Memorial Park at Riverside Cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be held at the VFW Hall on LeFevre Road
Riverside Drive from Adams Street to the railroad underpass on Woodhaven will be closed to through traffic just prior to and during the ceremonies.
City offices will be closed Monday. However, city refuse collection and curbside recycling pick ups will be done on the holiday.
MIAMISBURG
Events planned Memorial Day
Memorial Day events are scheduled in Miamisburg Monday. They include:
Memorial Day services: 8:45 a.m., Our Lady of Hope Cemetery; 9:15 a.m., Hillgrove Cemetery; 9:40 a.m., Highland Cemetery; 10:30 a.m., Linden Avenue River Bridge; 11 a.m., parade; Library Park service follows the parade and Picnic in the Park follows the service.
Military exhibits will be on display at the Market Square Building.

Memorial Day services in Fairborn Monday: 9 a.m. at Byron Cemetery conducted by VFW Post 6861; 11 a.m. at Fairfield Cemetery, conducted by American Legion Post 526, guest speaker will be senior officer from Wright Patterson AFB.
