World War II veteran celebrates 100th birthday at Dayton VA

DAYTON — A U.S. Army veteran celebrated his 100th birthday on Friday at the Dayton VA.

World War II Army veteran Robert Turner was treated to a special lunch featuring fish, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cake, according to the VA.

When staff asked what his secret was to living a long life, Turner said “trust in God” and to “love everybody.”

The VA says Turner served three years in the military in the medical field and enjoyed it.
