Woman injured in Piqua house fire

Firefighters in Piqua said a woman is recovering at Upper Valley Medical Center after her Janet Street home caught fire Tuesday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the 200 block of Janet Street around 12:40 a.m. and found the house was fully involved in smoke and flames.

The cause of the fire was unknown.

The woman was able to safely evacuate the house before firefighters arrived on scene. Investigators said the woman suffered a minor hand injury and was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Firefighters in Piqua are reportedly battling a fully involved house fire on Janet Street early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 200 block of Janet Street around 12:40 a.m. on a reported fully engulfed house fire.

A woman reportedly suffered a hand injury and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
