ENGLEWOOD — A mosquito pool collected at Don Ward Field in Englewood has tested positive for West Nile Virus.
In response, the City of Englewood has contracted for three rounds of mosquito fogging to lower disease transmission risks.
Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County confirmed the positive test, which was verified by the Ohio Department of Health.
The mosquito sample was collected in the field, located at 7745 Hoke Road.

To help reduce the local mosquito population and lower the risk of disease transmission, the City of Englewood contracted with Mosquito Joe of Miami Valley to conduct the spraying.
The first round of fogging is planned for later this week.
City officials will post the exact dates and times on the city website and Facebook page, noting that all treatments depend on weather conditions and any schedule changes will be announced as soon as possible.
