A trooper with the Lima Post was driving on SR-115 in Putnam County when an oncoming car drove into the trooper’s lane.

Dashcam video shows the trooper drive off of the road to avoid being hit.

The trooper pulls the vehicle over and the driver can be seen on bodycam video telling the trooper that he had dropped his cell phone and was reaching for it.

“This close call is a reminder of distracted driving puts everyone on our roadways at risk,” OSP said in a social media post.
