Vehicle accident in Dayton sends one person to hospital

DAYTON — Police and medics responded to a vehicle injury accident just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Dayton.

Crews responded to Riverside Dr. and Hillcrest Ave. after reports of two vehicles colliding.

A witness who lives in the area told News Center 7 that accidents in this area are an ongoing problem as a result of speeding.

“There’s been accidents since I’ve lived here. They should put a light or something here for people who are speeding, because there’s children who stay around here,” the witness said.

He also said there have been at least eight accidents since living in the area and that they were sometimes only months apart.

“I’m just wishing everyone would pay attention to this and help this area right here, which causes so many accidents,” he said. “One day a child is going to get hit, and I am hoping it’s not mine.”

Montgomery County dispatch confirmed that one person was taken to Grandview Medical Center with a head injury as a result of the crash.

It is not currently known if the crash was weather related.
