VANDALIA — Vandalia said in a release Wednesday night that Verizon customers are not able to text 911 to Vandalia Police Department at this time.
The outage also affects any providers that use Verizon towers.

VPD said that they are currently working with Verizon Wireless and the AT&T Resolution Center to fix the issue and will update on social media when it is restored.
Traditional 911 voice calls are still working properly and are not impacted by this outage.
