SIDNEY — Nearly $75,000 worth of drugs was seized by law enforcement in Shelby County last week, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Daveonta Reid, 22, of Eastpointe, Michigan, was arrested on felony drugs charges on Nov. 8 after a traffic stop on Interstate 75.

During a stop for impeding traffic, troopers noted the smell of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded .40 caliber handgun, 20 pounds of marijuana, a pound of hashish and 11 oxycodone pills worth about $74,280.
Reid was charged with possession of marijuana and hashish, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of oxycodone-hydrochloride pills and criminal tools.

If convicted, he could face up to nine years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine, according to OSP.
