Piqua man dead after crash involving semi in Miami County

MIAMI COUNTY — A Piqua man is dead after a crash in Miami County Monday afternoon.

Just before 2:10 p.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were called to the area of US-36 and Newberry-Washington South Road to reports of a crash with serious injuries.

An initial investigation found that a Nissan Rogue driven by Dylan Cline, 30, of Piqua was traveling west on US-36 when he traveled left of center, according to a media release.

A tractor-trailer driven by Ronald Moore, 65, of Union City was traveling east on US-36 and was hit head-on.

As a result of the crash, the tractor-trailer came to rest off the right side of the roadway into a field.

Cline died from his injuries on the scene.

Moore was treated and released, according to state troopers.

US 36 is currently closed as crews respond to the crash.
