Tree trimming crews prepare for strong wind in the Miami Valley tomorrow

Crews are working to cut down branches and trees they say could cause major damage Wednesday when the winds pick up.

The owner of 3n1 Tree Service, Stuart Moats, said his phone was ringing non-stop Tuesday.

“We’re booked fully out today. We’re booked out for another week or two,” Moats said.

He’s booked with clients concerned of another round of high winds like similar to last week.

“We had what was it 40-50 mile an hour sustained winds,” he said. “We’ve been responding to a lot of trees on houses, power lines, even a pool.”

One person who wants to keep that from happening to his property is Zack Jordan.

He was out helping Moats last week and felt the strong winds.

“It was pretty crazy. You don’t realize, you know, how heavy a tree is till it starts pulling in the wind,” Jordan said.

He knew he had to get the tree in his yard cut and is prepared to help out again Wednesday when the winds come.

“I’d say we’ll definitely have a couple jobs to do tomorrow for sure,” Jordan said.

Moats is expecting a lot more than just a couple of jobs.

“Anytime the winds are over 30 miles an hour we can expect to be responding to tree failures pretty much all day into part of the night,” Moats said.

Moats said since there are no leaves on the trees right now, it’s a great time for you to have a consultation on yours before the windy month of March.
