TIPP CITY — The Tipp City Police Department is encouraging residents to sign up for a free program that would help identify which houses and businesses in the community have cameras.

The police department says the hope is that if a crime occurs in a particular area, they will have a map of which establishments have cameras that might have captured helpful evidence.
“The program is meant to simply help us know who to contact in the event a crime occurs in your area,” the police department said.

The police department says they will not have access to residents’ cameras nor would they be able to view any footage without the owner expressly providing it to them.
