DAYTON — The 19-year-old who killed an 18-year-old last May learned he will spend at least 18.5 years in prison for his role in the shooting.

Dwayne Jones Jr. was sentenced after he was found guilty on March 25 of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence for the shooting death of Kameron Dewberry.

Dewberry was shot multiple times at a home on West Hudson Avenue on May 8 shortly after midnight. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Jones also was found guilty in an unrelated case, after he had a loaded handgun in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Investigators said the shooting stemmed from an argument that escalated into gunfire.

The shooting, Dayton police said, was linked to a string of violence involving two groups.
