Sanitation tanker truck crashes, rolls in Darke County

DARKE COUNTY — The driver of a sanitation tanker truck swerved to miss a car crossing the center line and ended up rolling and crashing in to a ditch in Darke County.

The accident happened just after 3 p.m. Thursday in the 7800 block of Coletown Lightsville Road.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office and Greenville Township Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.

The driver and a passenger in the sanitation truck were taken to Wayne Healthcare for minor injuries. Both men are from Greenville according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The accident remains under investigation and it’s unknown at this time if the driver of the car, a Mustang, will be cited in the crash.
