Dayton police and OSHP track pursuit suspect’s footprints in snow

DAYTON — A pursuit following a traffic stop in Dayton resulted in Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and Dayton Police officers chasing a suspect on foot.

Initially, police stopped the suspect for a speed violation. The suspect fled, initiating the pursuit.

An OHSP sergeant said the pursuit ended when the suspect pulled into a yard in the 1,000 block of Iola Avenue.

Officers and troopers were able to track the suspect’s footprints in the snow and Dayton Police officers arrested the suspect without force.

The sergeant said that the pursuit reached speeds of 50 mph.

According to a OSHP dispatcher, the chase began near US 35 and Ludlow Street.
